“What kind of pet?” Naomi asked.

“How about a spider!.”

“Come on. That is not even trying. You have got to do better than that.”

“How about my belt. Its really very tame once you get to know it. And its very loyal.”

“Yeah and it doesn’t move, talk or have a pulse. Come on. Your belt is not a pet.”

“I have limited resources. I can’t go get out of this spaceship and go to a pet store to get you a pet.”

“Can you get me a pet star?”

“Wouldn’t a pet star be to big?”

“Oh, you don’t want to be my friend. You only want to try to placate me.”

“I can see if I can get you that star but, it will take me awhile.”

“Don’t bother. I know you won’t get it for me. You don’t care about me woman now out of the car. All I am is a thing to you.”

“I care. And I will prove it to you.” The woman now out of the car said. She began to think hard. “Instead of telling you I will show you. Have you ever heard the saying that a picture is worth a hundred words.”

“Not from you.” Naomi said.

“No, that is not what I am saying.” The woman now out of the car said.

“Then what are you saying?” Naomi asked.

“I am saying that I may not have told the truth about Dorothy.”

“What?”

“OK, so I liked about Dorothy. Dorothy is a good person. She is a good woman. Dorothy never says anything bad about anyone.”

“What? You lied to me woman now out of the car. Are you kidding me?”

“I wish I were. But, I must admit that I am a phony.”

“Oh, no and we can’t go back to planet Hmm and get Dorothy. Wherever she is.”

“Can you forgive me?”

“I am sorry I can never forgive a liar. I don’t like women who lie.  I can’t stand to be around you woman now out of the car.”

“Would it help if I got you a bigger hard dive? Or how out some more ram.”

“You can’t bribe me woman now out of the car!! I will not take your gifts.”

“I am sorry I lied.”

“I don’t believe you. I never want to talk to you again.”

“No. You are my friend.”

“Corrections I was your friend. We are no longer on speaking terms.”

“No.” The woman now out of the car said.

“You should have thought of the consequences before you lied to me.” Naomi said.

“At least some one fells sorry for you the woman now out of the car. I know I don’t.” Naomi said.

“I never asked anyone to feel sorry for me. I said I feel sorry for myself. And don’t forget it.” The woman now out of the car said. And by the way mommy can we stop off at the moon for a sightseeing trip?” The woman out out of the car said and asked.

“Remember this is place. I mean space. We can’t go outside with a spacesuit. Otherwise we will begin laughing and never stop.”

“SO that is what happens when you go outside in space without an atmosphere. I learn new false facts everyday. It never ceases to amaze me.”

“I know so many facts I feel that I am almost a computer.”

“Naomi you are a computer.”

“Oh, right.”

“I wish Dorothy were hear. You know she read a lot of books. I am sure one of them told how to make a space suit out of items laying around a spaceship. I miss Dorothy.”

“Are we back to Dorothy again. She is bad news.”

“No she is not Naomi.”

“Yes she is. She said all those horrible things about you.”

“No she supposedly said all those horrible things about you.”

“Oh, right. So what is your point woman now out of the car.”

“She never said any of those things about you.” The woman now out of the car said.

“So you said those things about me?” Naomi asked.

“I am so sad I made a fool of myself in your eyes Naomi.” The woman now out of the car said.

“Don’t worry about that. Worry that I have recorded you little episode. And I am beaming it to planet hmm as we speak. Now all of planet hmm will see you begging for me to take you to an ice cream parlor and calling me mommy.” Naomi said.

“I will be ridiculed. I will be a food. I will be the laughing stock of planet Hmm. I will never live it down. That is a good thing. That means I will finally be able to become the celebrity I have always wanted.

I will be famous and be on the sally swish show. I will tell her how it was all unscripted. I will tell her that I am the greatest celebrity no one has ever know.”

“You are not making any sense the woman now out of the car.”

“For your information I have never and will never make any sense. Every.”

“You mean from now on.”

“I would not put it that way. A woman can never say never. Sometimes I don’t make any sense.”

“I feel sorry for you the woman now out of the car.” Naomi said.

“I feel sorry for me to Naomi.” The woman now out of the car said.

“Planet Hmm looks amazing from the view up here.” The woman now out of the car said.

“You are right about that the woman now out of the car. I wish I were a planet instead of a computer.”

“Don’t compare yourself to a planet Naomi. You have your own special gifts. I can’t think of any right now but, you must have some.”

“Thank you for that back handed comment. It makes me feel so much better.”

“You are welcome Naomi. I am glad I could make your day.”

“I was not being serious. I was being facetious.”

“Oh, I see. Where should we go now that we are in space. Can you take me to an ice cram parlor. I am so excited. I want ice cream. Can we got to any ice cream parlor Mommy.”

“I am not your mommy the woman now out of the car.”

“I am sorry I got a little carried away. I got so excited.”

“Don”t make excuses for yourself the woman now out of the car.”

“I am an adult. I can make as many excuses as I want to for myself. The woman now out of the car said.

“I stand to my conviction that you should not make excuses for yourself.” Naomi said.
